A welcome arch in the provincial boundary between Ilocos Norte and Ilocos Sur. |
Traveling for 7-8 hours via land transportation can be exhausting and tiring. Furthermore, there is magic in long hours of travel if you want to explore new places. Passing through Ilocos Norte, its stone arch will welcome the travelers to explore the rural towns, old churches, and historical heritage sites reflected in the preservation of culture and traditions.

The first landmark will greet the tourists or visitors in the province is the welcome arch located in the boundary of Sinait, Ilocos Sur and Badoc, Ilocos Norte. Tourists usually take photos in this landmark, sharing some proof that they made it to Ilocandia. The welcome arch will lead you to the first town, Badoc, the birthplace of the Luna brothers namely Juan and Antonio.

After passing the arch, we visited Malacanan Ti Amianan, popularly known as the Malacanang of the North, the official residence of Ferdinand Marcos Sr. and his family during his administration. Overlooking the Paoay Lake, this two-story mansion is now a museum highlighting the historical events of Marcos era represented in its seven rooms.

Therefore, it is just the beginning of the tour in the Ilocos Region after a 7-8 hours land travel visiting the welcome arch and the classic presidential residence in a three-day tour as I revisit the province noted for being "Solid North" in terms of preserving cultural heritage and natural tourist attractions.
